Château Bel Air Marquis d´Aligre
Château Bel Air Marquis d’Aligre is an atypical wine estate in the Margaux appellation, renowned for its singular history and elegant wines. Located in Soussans, at the heart of the Médoc, it covers about 13 hectares of light gravel soils and produces red wines celebrated for their finesse and authenticity.
🏰 History and Identity
Founded in the 18th century, named after the Marquis d’Aligre in the 19th century.
Not included in the 1855 classification, as the wines were reserved for the marquis’ personal use. Later recognized in 1932 as a “grand cru exceptionnel.”
For over 50 years, Jean-Pierre Boyer has managed the estate, embodying a philosophy of respect for tradition and terroir.
🌱 Vineyard and Terroir
13 hectares of light gravel ridges, neighboring Château Margaux.
Grape varieties: Merlot (35%), Cabernet Sauvignon (30%), Cabernet Franc (20%), Petit Verdot (15%).
Sensitive to frost during harsh winters.
